A new Kate Bush song will appear on the upcoming soundtrack for the film The Golden Compass. Lyra will be available for download from December 12 and will feature a hearty contribution from Oxford’s Magdalen College Choir. The song is named after lead character Lyra Belacqua, played in the movie by Dakota Blue Richards. The song was written and produced by Bush in her home studio and is the first new material to appear since 2005’s double-LP Ariel.
