The two day festival was to take place on March 28th and 29th in Bristol and feature sets from Jon Oliva’s Pain, Kamelot, Leaves’ Eyes, Communic, Haggard, Dreamscape, Scar Symmetry, and Cloudscape. The following statement was posting on the event’s website:

This is the hardest decision we have ever had to make, but it is with great regret that we have had to cancel ProgPower UK III. We have made no secret of the financial difficulties that have dogged our first two years, which is why we made a significant number of changes for year three. However, ticket sales have been extremely poor and, as a result, there is no way we can stage the festival without losing a substantial amount of money – again.

The brand new video from Lasse Hoile for the track ‘Normal’ is now streaming exclusively on the mini-site for the new Porcupine Tree release Nil Recurring. Fans can download a special ‘Nil Recurring’ banner from the site which will enable them to embed a Porcupine Tree audio player on their own site, blog or myspace. There are also French, Italian and German language versions of the mini-site.

Nil Recurring follows the release of Porcupine Tree’s grammy-nominated ‘Fear Of A Blank Planet’ album. The mini-album (29 minutes of music) was written during the ‘Fear Of A Blank Planet’ sessions, completed over the summer of 2007, and is now presented as a cohesive, self-contained Porcupine Tree work in its own right.

The title track features Robert Fripp on lead guitar, and the album moves through the full Porcupine Tree spectrum of atmospheric ambience, melodic hooks, and crushing riffs.

This edition is packaged in a deluxe super jewel case in textured slipcase.

Porcupine Tree are regarded as one of the most impressive experimental/ progressive/ psychedelic rock bands to emerge from the UK since their inception in 1991, having enjoyed a successful recording career spanning over 15 years.

Frontman Steven Wilson is also known for his recent work with Aviv Geffen as Blackfield and for his production and musical contributions on the Opeth albums ‘Blackwater Park’, ‘Deliverance’ and ‘Damnation’.

A brand new DVD release of the legendary Pallas! The Scottish neo prog outfit is one of the very first bands of the neo progressive movement of the early eighties. It’s an energetic and magnificent band somewhat reminiscent of IQ/Marillion but with more edge. Their music is based on melodic hooks, loud sound and great voice. DVD offers a real treat for the fans of sublime soundscapes: beautiful and dynamic songs, fluctuating between dreamy melancholy, monumental sadness, and bursting energy. A great spectacle, beautifully adorned with wonderful lighting and intriguing visuals, filmed at the atmospheric venue of Wyspianski Theater in Katowice, Poland in late October 2007.
