Nil Recurring follows the release of Porcupine Tree’s grammy-nominated ‘Fear Of A Blank Planet’ album. The mini-album (29 minutes of music) was written during the ‘Fear Of A Blank Planet’ sessions, completed over the summer of 2007, and is now presented as a cohesive, self-contained Porcupine Tree work in its own right.

The title track features Robert Fripp on lead guitar, and the album moves through the full Porcupine Tree spectrum of atmospheric ambience, melodic hooks, and crushing riffs.

This edition is packaged in a deluxe super jewel case in textured slipcase.

Porcupine Tree are regarded as one of the most impressive experimental/ progressive/ psychedelic rock bands to emerge from the UK since their inception in 1991, having enjoyed a successful recording career spanning over 15 years.

Frontman Steven Wilson is also known for his recent work with Aviv Geffen as Blackfield and for his production and musical contributions on the Opeth albums ‘Blackwater Park’, ‘Deliverance’ and ‘Damnation’.

Porcupine Tree started out as an in-joke between Steven Wilson and a friend (early recordings were purportedly the back catalogue of a fictional seventies supergroup ‘The Porcupine Tree’ that Wilson created) Almost 20 years later the group is a hundred thousand selling band, selling out arenas across the world.

Throughout this period they have evolved from a psychedelic solo studio project to one of the most revered live bands on the planet, releasing 11 critically acclaimed albums, a host of singles and various re-mastered and re-mixed reissues. KrimsonNews.com has reported (by way of DGMLive) that Gavin Harrison, Porcupine Tree’s drummer, will be joining the next incarnation of King Crimson. He’ll be joining Belew, Levin, and Pat Mastelotto, along with Fripp of course, for dates next year, most likely beginning in August.

A selection of tour merchandise is now available from the Porcupine Tree online shop, including several different t-shirts, and the latest hoodies.

It seems so many people want to get the Transmission digipack version of the Nil Recurring mini album, that we are repressing it, and it’s available to pre-order now from our PT on-line Store. The idea was never to make this music available only to a select few people, we just underestimated how many people would want it. Anyway, it’s now once again available, and will also be available on the forthcoming tour. There will be permanent retail version of the mini album released early in 2008, plus we are also going to have it at the download store soon.
