Next month, Peter Gabriel’s human rights organization, WITNESS, will be launching its newest project: The Hub for human rights media and action. The Hub will be a grassroots-driven, participatory media website that will enable anyone anywhere in the world with access to the internet to upload, share, discuss and take action around human rights-related media and resources. NME.com reports what we already knew – Peter Gabriel won’t be joining the Genesis reunion.
I don’t think so… I don’t have any ideological objections, it’s just at the time it was expanding [and] I had other things I wanted to do. You have to think twice about making a bigtime commitment to something that is backward looking.
Gabriel also told Planet Rock Radio that he had been keen to see the band play in Rome recently, but had been unable to make the gig.

Peter Gabriel, Annie Lennox and Razorlight are just some of the artists set to take part in Nelson Mandela’s 46664 concert in Johannesburg on December 1. This will be the fifth show to take place in support of the 46664 HIV/AIDS campaign and the first to take place on World Aids Day.

Now this is ambitious. Solid State Logic will begin selling fully equipped replicas of Peter Gabriel’s private recording shed. Check out this video over at Mix magazine’s website where Gabriel explains the situation.
