Les Claypool’s first ever feature film, “Electric Apricot: Quest For Festeroo,” will be released in theaters Nov. 9th by National Lampoon. The mockumentary-style spoof is a comedic character study of four headstrong musicians trying to establish themselves in the jam scene. The film stars Claypool – who also wrote and directed the picture – as Lap “Lapdog” Miklovich, drummer for the fictional jam band Electric Apricot.
The movie takes you on a comedic ride with Electric Apricot as they navigate the jam scene, making their first record and their debut appearance at the one and only Festeroo. The movie features jam band legends including the Grateful Dead/Ratdog’s Bob Weir, Mike Gordon from Phish and Warren Haynes and Matt Abts from Gov’t Mule. There are even comedic cameos from Seth Green, Arj Barker and South Park’s Matt Stone.
Visit the movie’s official website for more info and to view the trailer.
