The Times Online’s Arts-n-Entertainment section has a nice article on Bill Bruford today.
If you survive in this industry for 40 years without too many cuts and bruises, still sober and still getting excited by the smell of a drum set, then you get reflective,†he says. “People think this is a glamourous industry, but it comes with a lot of rough edges. Even though people see I’m obviously enjoying playing, the rest of the stuff can be hard.

Granted, this item isn’t exactly new by any means, but I’ve never had a chance to comment on the figurine – I mean, sculpture – until now. And what a sculpture it is! It’s 1/9 scale and the keyboard stands 12″ high. They’re priced at $149.
The Keith Emerson Limited Edition Sculpture is created in intricate detail by a team of artists who have hand-painted and hand-numbered this collectible. Only 3000 figures are available worldwide.
I want one. Get yours at Knucklebonz.com.

What’s this? Eddie Jobson has put together a ‘virtual’ band including A-listers Trey Gunn, Aaron Lippert (vocals), Alex Machacek (guitar) and Marco Minnemann (drums). Very interesting… From the official press release:
Returning from a self-imposed 27-year retirement from band and touring activity, keyboardist/electric violinist and UK co-founder, Eddie Jobson, set out to find the same caliber of next-generation musicians for the new UKZ project that would equal or surpass the talents of his previous colleagues and collaborators—an already impressive list that includes Frank Zappa, Robert Fripp, Bill Bruford, Phil Collins, John Entwistle, Ian Anderson, Simon Phillips, Terry Bozzio, Allan Holdsworth, and Tony Levin.
