An upcoming book on Dream Theater, “Lifting Shadows”, will contain some shocking bombshells, such as that the prog-metal masters came close to axing singer James LaBrie back in 2002. “Towards the end of the ‘Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence’ tour, several of us were really starting to question our future with James,” admits drummer Mike Portnoy. An “ultimatum” was issued (you’ll have to read the book to find out the full details).
The book is authored by Rich Wilson, a UK based rock journalist who has contributed articles to Classic Rock, Record Collector and Metal Hammer over the last decade. He spent over three years researching and writing this definitive book on Dream Theater’s history. For more information on “Lifting Shadows”, visit this website.
