Gabriel Named Personality of the Year

Ryko to Distribute Gabriel’s Real World Records

Ryko will take over U.S. distribution for Peter Gabriel’s Real World Records, including both digital and physical distribution of Real World’s catalog and will re-issue many of the label’s back catalog titles. Peter Gabriel launched the world music-centric Real World Records in 1989. In a statement, Ryko Distribution President Jim Cuomo said, “Joining forces with Real World is a perfect complement to the artist-driven focus we have at Ryko and will enable us to reinforce Real World’s stature as the standard-bearer in World Music. We have shared and applauded Peter’s vision over many years and are both thrilled and excited to be able to contribute to Real World’s ongoing success.”

Steve Hackett and Wife Separate

It is with great sadness and regret that we announce the end of our marriage. Ours has been a long and enduring partnership and we want to thank all our friends and fans for their affection and support over the last thirty-two years. Unfortunately nothing stands still and times change but life must always move on. We have both enjoyed and nurtured a wonderful and perfect collaboration combining art and music. A full life full of extraordinary and memorable moments.

On February 11th, Steve Hackett will release ‘Tribute’, a “continuing expression of Steve’s fascination with the classical guitar and an homage to the composers and performers who have inspired him”. Steve often performs classical pieces live, but Tribute “represents his purest engagement with classical music to date”.
