On January 22, Rhino Records will release ELP’s Works albums, volumes I and II. Both have been remastered from the original tapes. There is no mention that I can find, however, of bonus tracks or other added goodies. Anyway, pre-order your copies here.
In the midst of last month’s holiday madness, the passing of jazz legend Oscar Peterson was not given proper notice. Checkout this quite remarkable clip from “Oscar Peterson’s Piano Party” featuring Keith Emerson and Carl Palmer. Those were the days…
Left to Right: Keith Emerson, Jeff Aaron, Simon Kirke and Alan White
Jeff “The Fish” Aaron (that’s Jeff next to Keith) has posted some great behind-the-scenes photos from last week’s Ahmet Ertegun/Led Zeppelin concert at his website: TheFishOnRadio.com
Tony Ortiz, the curator for the Official Emerson Lake & Palmer archive, has just posted the following from his MySpace blog:
Carl recently said in an interview that there was talk about an ELP reunion. And I know Greg said he had lunch with Keith today in London, I may be wrong, but I think this is the first time they have spoken since the break up in 1998. some other stuff that Greg was saying leads me to believe that there may be an ELP reunion, and if there was I’m guessing it would be next year. which would be the 35th Anniversary of the Brain Salad Surgery LP.
