Dream Theater’s “Constant Motion” video was voted the #2 video of 2007 on MTV2 Headbanger’s Ball Top 20 countdown this past weekend. MTV2′s end-of-year show was voted on by over 120,000 viewers.

An upcoming book on Dream Theater, “Lifting Shadows”, will contain some shocking bombshells, such as that the prog-metal masters came close to axing singer James LaBrie back in 2002. “Towards the end of the ‘Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence’ tour, several of us were really starting to question our future with James,” admits drummer Mike Portnoy. An “ultimatum” was issued (you’ll have to read the book to find out the full details).
The book is authored by Rich Wilson, a UK based rock journalist who has contributed articles to Classic Rock, Record Collector and Metal Hammer over the last decade. Yamaha Audio Systems has announced that the first live use of the new DSP5D expander for the Yamaha PM5D console is taking place on Dream Theater’s tour. The Yamaha DSP5D is a stand-alone unit that expands the capabilities of the Yamaha PM5D digital console to 96 mono plus 16 stereo input channels.
