Gilmour: No Floyd Reunion

ContactMusic.com reports that: David Gilmour has no plans to regroup with his Pink Floyd bandmates again, despite getting fans’ hopes up when the legendary rockers reunited for a one-off Live 8 performance in 2005. The guitarist’s infamous rift with bandmate Roger Waters caused the rockers to split in the 1980s, but Gilmour has dismissed speculation of a Pink Floyd reunion because he’s more interested in his solo work.

“I can’t see why I would want to be going back to that old thing. It’s very retrogressive.”

Gilmour Posts New DVD Clip

David Gilmour has posted another clip from his DVD, Remember That Night, at his website. This particular clip is the full version of Fat Old Sun, from Floyd’s Atom Heart Mother album.

A longtime favourite of many Floyd fans, Fat Old Sun is one of David’s songs from the Atom Heart Mother album, an opus that was Pink Floyd’s first UK Number One album. It has since been eclipsed in the critical view by subsequent albums such as Meddle and the twin peaks of The Dark Side Of The Moon and Wish You Were Here, but it can bear a re-evaluation.
