New Ayreon Track on MySpace

It’s the season of giving, and Ayreon has generously posted a new song ‘The Fifth Extinction’ on their MySpace page. The song is from their forthcoming album ’01011001′ . The track, over 10 minutes long, is divided up in two parts to meet with MySpace limitations.

Ayreon Release Party

A release party has been announced to celebrate the newest Ayreon release, 01011001. The location is the Stairway to Heaven Cafe in Utrecht, The Netherlands on Sunday January 27th, 2008. The event is free and is scheduled to get underway at 13.00 hrs and should end at about 17.00 hrs. Sounds like fun.

Ayreon Cover Art Revealed

Belgian painter Jef Bertels has once again provided the cover for the new Ayreon release named “01011001″.

Jef was also the artist behind Ayreon’s previous albums Into the Electric Castle, The Dream Sequencer and their latest release The Human Equation. You can check out more of Bertels work at his official site.

For the CD’s interior layout, Colombian graphics artist Felipe Machado Franco was chosen. You can check out his website.

Ayreon Confirm Daniel GildenlÃ¶w

Pain of Salvation frontman Daniel GildenlÃ¶w will be the final vocalist to sing on the new Ayreon album scheduled for release in January 08. Arjen recently left the Electric Castle and flew to Stockholm, Sweden to record with GildenlÃ¶w. To learn more about Pain of Salvation you can check their website.

Tom S. Englund of Evergrey has been announced as the sixth vocalist on the new Ayreon album. Tom flew over to the Netherlands last week from Sweden to record all his vocal parts.
