Wendy Lozenicins wants Adrian Belew in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. She writes:
“Do you feel, as I do, that it’s about time that a Prog Rock artist got inducted into the hallowed halls of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame? Sadly, to my knowledge, at this time, there have been NO Prog Rock Inductees at all! Certainly a sorry indictment for such a wonderful collection of earth-shattering, mind-altering, and ground-breaking Music! Well, I have set out on a long and arduous journey to try and change this sorry state of affairs.â€

By way of Krimson-News.com, comes word that Guitar Player magazine has chosen King Crimson’s Neal and Jack and Me as one the “50 essential guitar DVDs”. The DVD features two KC concerts: Three of a Perfect Pair-Live in Japan 1984 and The Noise-Live in Frejus 1982.

Apparently Adrian’s got a bad case of writer’s block, as he’s got “unfinished” songs that need to be completed – maybe by you? Over at the Elephant Blog, Adrian writes:
Complete any of the “unfinished” songs we’ve been releasing as downloads by adding your own melody, vocal, and/or words. Then send your completed masterpiece to webmaster Rob Murphree. Please send MP3s or CDs. Entries will be based on creativity, so feel free to add whatever you want. Keep in mind it’s not a shredding contest but a creative assignment. There will be 3 judges including yours truly. entries must be sent to Rob by December 31. the winner will be announced on January 10th. The winner will be awarded an original Adrian painting worth 6 cents!! and the winning masterpiece will be a free download for all the other SMARTIEs to ignore…er, enjoy.

Now wouldn’t this be an interesting collaboration? Adrian Belew has just blogged that Trent Reznor phoned and asked him to collaborate on new material in L.A. Says Adrian:
In my opinion, no one makes better sounding records than trent. I love what he does and I’m happy he feels the same.

Adrian Belew has recently listed two of his cars on eBay motors. They’ll be listed for another 6 days. Pictured below is a custom-bodied CRX si:
a quick agile little “pocket rocket” which I adore. I’ve had it since it was new in 1991 and still called a Honda CRX si. now it called a “Vitesse” by the customizers, a shop in Toronto. it took 3 months of labor to convert. such a fabulous car to drive, if you don’t mind being constantly asked questions from twentysomething guys.

In his latest blog entry, Adrian Belew reminisces about life on-the-road with Frank Zappa:
“and so it was in June of 1977 I moved to L.A. to begin rehearsals with frank zappa. I rented a non-descript one bedroom apartment on Canyon Drive in North Hollywood not far from the famous Hollywood sign. who says ‘nobody walks in LA’? I sure did.”
